My younger brother Jerry's baby was born today!
Jerry and Crystal let the gender be a surprise so it was fun to get a text message picture of my new little nephew which not only announced his birth but also his gender. :)
Hayden Wayne was born at 4:10 pm. He weighed in at 6 lbs 12 oz and was 18 1/2 in long. Not too bad for 4/5 weeks early! :)
Right after he was born Hayden had to spend a few hours in the NICU so when we finally arrived at the hospital to visit we were able to watch the nurses through the glass windows of the nursery while they got him ready to meet his adoring fans and the world.
Hayden is super cute and has a ton of hair. :)

Kent III fell asleep on a couch while we watched Hayden get his bath so I don't have any pictures of Kent III holding his cousin...yet. :)
I found it very interesting to watch the nurses poke and prod and bathe Hayden as I have never gotten to see that before. For my own kids I was busy doing other things and for other babies I have never gotten to the hospital in time to see it.
I am very excited that Hayden and Drae are going to grow up so close in age. And I can't help but think that big brother Kent III is going to be more than happy to show Hayden and Drae how the world works...I get the feeling they are certainly going to be a trio to be reckoned with! :)
Even though Hayden was early, everything checked out fine and he should be ready to go home with Mom on Tuesday. :)
