Shave and a Haircut...

For Halloween this year our family is going to dress as pirates. As part of the costume I convinced Kent to grow a goatee and he started doing so about a month and a half ago.

Also starting about a month and a half ago, his 12-13 year old scouts decided to make a movie for the Cinematography merit badge so Kent agreed to grow a beard for his role as the villain (he rationalized he was growing it anyway for Halloween, so why not?). He also decided to let his hair grow long so he would have the whole evil, kind of crazy look going on for his role in the movie.

Well, the beard has been driving Kent absolutely nuts! It itches, he doesn't think it looks good and he just doesn't like it. :) But, he set aside his urges to take a razor to his beard and has tried to endure...what dedication he has for his calling as a Scout Leader! :)

The scouts were only able to get together once for filming so far and the campout this weekend was cancelled which was supposed to be another movie making campout. Since Kent wasn't in any of the scences when they did film and he doesn't quite know when they will be able to finish filming the movie, he decided to just be a villain without a beard for the movie. :) So last night he shaved his beard into a goatee. Even his steel like resolve couldn't last forever!

Kent is also planning on cutting his hair really short soon as part of his pirate costume (he can say that but we all know it is really because he doesn't like his hair very long and usually only lets it get just long enough for me to enjoy his adorable curls before chopping it off again).

I just had to share for those of you far away that would never have gotten to see Kent in a beard or a goatee.

Now...if I can just convince him to keep the goatee longer than the 31st...
