Do you NuCanoe? We do!

Friday, August 28th

Tonight we went up American Fork canyon to try out our new Nucanoes. (Isn't that just fun to say?! :) New Nucanoes...tee hee!)

These canoes are special because they are hard resin, filled with air. They can be completely filled with water and will not sink and, because they are hard resin, they only weigh between 59-77 lbs. They are extremely easy to get into, should you somehow fall out. You can even stand up in them! The very best part though is that they are modular. You can set them up for fishing, paddling, kayaking (up to class 2 rapids), hunting, rowing or more. The seats come out so you can set up the weight distribution to have your own Nucanoe all to yourself or up to three people in the 12' model (2 for the 10' model). My favorite style of chair is the captain's chair. I love having back support as I rowed around. :)

Pretty impressive when Kent and the girls can carry it by themselves. :)

Cute Savannah got the 10' canoe all to herself.

Samantha and I shared a 12' Nucanoe.

Kent and Kent III shared the other 12' Nucanoe so they could do a little fishing.

After awhile Samantha got a little bored rowing around so we went to the shore and she spent her time walking on water.

A little while after that Kent III got bored too so he joined us on the shore and he and Samantha had fun playing in the mud.

Kent actually caught a few fish.

The girls playing with one of the fish. I love that they aren't squeamish. :)

Be sure to notice the brand name of our life vests. :) The girls joked around that while we (the girls of the family) don't have our individual names on our vests, it still signifies who we belong with. ;)

Anyway, the Nucanoes were a lot of fun! Tomorrow we are supposed to go down the Provo River and I can hardly wait!
