January 15th

Our drive to Primm Valley last night was pretty uneventful. I was a little slow getting everything together so we left later than we wanted to. We ended up in Primm Valley a little after 9:30 p.m.

How the kids spent the whole drive.

Kent III didn't quite get how the headphones were supposed to fit, he kept adjusting them and if you tried to help him, he got upset. Oh well, he still seemed to enjoy it.

We stayed at Buffalo Bill's in Primm Valley. Because it was a weeknight we got a room for a little over $21.00. Not too bad for two queen beds. :)

Because we got there so late every restaurant, except McDonald's, was closed (in our hotel/casino at least and we were too tired to walk to the next casino). I was actually shocked. Aren't casino restaurants supposed to stay open 24/7? I guess only in Las Vegas proper. :)

Savannah was so hungry she devoured a giant stack of chicken nuggets! ;)

While waiting for our food I made the kids get into a little buggy the casino had as part of the decorations. The girls thought it proper that Kent III pretend to be the driver. :)

We were all pretty tired so we got our food and headed up to our room. After we ate we fell asleep hard and fast.

Ok, girls, time to get up!

The main floor ceiling of the hotel was so low, even Savannah could touch it (the rest of the ceilings on other floors were higher, this one was just special I guess).

A picture of our hotel after we had checked out and were driving to breakfast.

We went to Terrible's, another hotel/casino in Primm Valley, for breakfast (it was recommened to us as the best one).

For the most part the breakfast buffet was really good. Except for the pancakes...they were hard as a rock! Guess they took "Silver Dollar Pancakes" a little too literally. ;)

Kent III insisted that his 'roars' get a good breakfast too. :)

After we stuffed ourselves full of tasty food, we were back on the road and headed to Grandma H.'s. We spent the afternoon chatting with Grandma and the kids played with all of Grandma's cool toys.

We ate dinner at Grandma's and Kent's Aunt Sharon, Uncle Marty and their two daughters also came to dinner. Below is a picture of the girls with cousins Kiera, Erica and Heidi (Heidi lives with Grandma right now).

Playing the piano with Grandma.

After dinner we helped at the church where Jennifer and Bill's reception will be Saturday night.

The main focus of the evening was getting the center piece of the room up. Notice the basketball hoops in the background. They put lattice over the backboards and designed a special little box that fit over the hoops. I thought it was ingenious and did a great job of looking good and hiding the basketball hoops.

Kent and Bill (the groom) were in charge of stringing the lights.

Even the girls got in on helping out. When they weren't chasing around after Kent III that is. :)

But don't worry...it wasn't all work and no play.

We stayed until around 11:00 p.m. We felt bad leaving before it was finished but we needed to get up early for Disneyland in the morning. For some reason we thought Aunt Barbie's and Grandma's houses would be full of people staying over so we opted to use our Trendwest membership and got a suite a few blocks from Disneyland.

Our Trendwest Resort.

You walk into the kitchen/family room area.

Next to the fridge was the door to the master bedroom where Kent and I slept. Ahhh...a king sized bed!! I love vacations! :)

It had a bathroom attached to it.

The girls room was off the family room, their door was next to the couch. Kent III slept on the couch (it pulled out into a Murphy bed).

The kids bathroom was to the left of the front door (across from the kitchen).

It even had a washer/dryer in it.
