The last few days have been spent finishing up the kitchen and tackling a few other jobs around the house.
We added baseboard in the kitchen.

As well as caulked all the necessary places.

And when that was all done, it meant the kitchen was actually 100% finished. Hooray!!
Just a quick 'before' picture as a reminder.

And the gorgeous, finished kitchen. (Be sure to notice the beautiful new fridge we got. :))

Our next major project in our house is the game room. When we first moved into our house we had a patio. After awhile we enclosed the patio and made it into a room. We used that room as an aviary when we had breeding birds but after Kent developed an allergy to birds and we had to sell them all, the room just became a storage room.
We have decided to clean up and redo that room and make it into a game room. Somewhere that Kent can store all the gaming terrain he makes and a place we can play various board or other games.
The redo of the room actually started when we had the guys who framed in our kitchen extend heating and cooling ducts to the room (before we just used fans and portable heaters to maintain the temperature in the room) but nothing else has been done before now because of the kitchen project taking priority.
The first thing we decided we needed for the room was a new door from the game room into the garage. So, we took out the old door and put in a new one. Sadly, it wasn't as easy as that because the old door was really old and not a normal dimension that is used today. Kent had to knock out the frame work all around the door and basically reframe everything for the new door. What a pain!

Seriously, the pictures do not do justice for how difficult this project was. Kent did an amazing job though and I am very proud of him!
One of the minor things we did was replace the mirror in the Kid's bathroom. We had a very old 1970's style mirror before (see picture below). I could barely even see myself in the mirror and the poor girls never could see themselves.

I was so excited for the new mirror I made Kent prop it up on the counter before we had time to secure it. Well, while Kent was working on the game room door he walked into the kitchen and as he was walking back into the garage he heard a large crash. Yep, the mirror fell and broke. *sigh*

It was a huge mess! I didn't even think to take a picture until after I had started sweeping up.
So...who gets the 7 years bad luck? Kent? Me? The house? I sincerely hope it isn't the house...it has had enough to deal with lately... :) If it is the house...I need to move...anyone want to buy a possessed house cheap? ;)
**Inserted later**
It actually took Home Depot WEEKS to get another mirror in the size that broke, but here is the finished mirror in the Kid's bathroom. I love it!

Today I was actually pretty sick, I have a sinus thing going on that just won't let me be. Luckily I have the best husband in the world and he takes wonderful care of me. Here's hoping this sickness doesn't last much longer and doesn't get passed on to others.
