Memorial Day

As is tradition in my family we visited graves today. My family is notorious for being late so while we waited at the cemetery Savannah utilized her time wisely. :)

There was this tiny owl in the tree above where my brother Rudy parked. The owl was so cute! Seriously, take him home and keep him cute.

Even though we do this every year, I continue to learn new things about my ancestors from my brother Rudy. Very interesting stuff. Like how my grandpa and his brothers came to America from England but their father (my great grandpa) stayed in England until his wife died and then he came to America. So my great grandpa is buried here while my great grandma is buried somewhere in England.

After we visited the two cemeteries we went to my parent's house for a BBQ lunch and swimming.

After we left my parent's house we went to Kent's parent's house for a BBQ dinner.

Kent III and cousin Sean enjoyed playing with each other and the wagon.

After dinner we played 'Lasso Golf', adults vs kids. The adults ended up winning, but not by much. :)

Basically in Lasso Golf (also known as Ladder Golf) you have a little bola that you toss towards the target. The point is to wrap the bolas around the rungs of the target. Each rung is worth different points (1, 2 or 3). Before you start the game you decide on an end score and the first team to that number wins.

A fun day spent reflecting on family, those around us and those who have gone on.

I hope your Memorial Day was as memorable as mine!
